Korean Skin Treatment Map
A simple guide to non-surgical skin and aesthetic treatments in Seoul.
This guide does not replace medical consultation. It is designed to help you prepare better questions for licensed clinicians in Korea.
Korean skin clinics offer many treatment options, and the names can be confusing for overseas visitors. Some treatments use energy-based devices, such as laser, HIFU, or radiofrequency. Others are injectable treatments, such as botulinum toxin, fillers, and skin boosters.

Two main categories of non-surgical skin treatments
Non-surgical Korean skin treatments can be broadly grouped into two categories.
Energy-based treatments use light, ultrasound, or radiofrequency energy to target pigmentation, redness, texture, pores, acne scars, tightening, or lifting.
Injectable treatments use small injections to improve wrinkles, facial balance, hydration, skin texture, collagen stimulation, or overall skin quality.

A closer look at each category
Laser
Laser is not one treatment. Pigment lasers, vascular lasers, toning lasers, fractional lasers, and resurfacing lasers may differ in target, intensity, and downtime. Ask which specific laser is suggested and why — and, for pigmentation-prone skin, how settings and aftercare reduce the risk of post-treatment pigmentation.
HIFU & RF lifting
HIFU and RF are both used for lifting or tightening, but they use different energy types and may differ in depth, discomfort, and expected result timing. HIFU uses focused ultrasound; RF uses radiofrequency. Results often build gradually, so ask when to expect change and how many sessions are typical.
Botulinum toxin
Often used for expression lines, jaw-muscle slimming, or "skin Botox." Effects are not immediate and usually appear gradually over several days. Ask about the product, the dose in units, the target muscle or skin layer, and any temporary weakness or asymmetry to watch for.
Filler
Used for volume support, facial-balance questions, and selected contour correction. Filler is a medical procedure, not a simple beauty product: ask about the product, the number of cc, the injection area, the injector's qualification, vascular-risk precautions, and whether it is reversible (for HA filler).
Skin booster
